Abstract
Introduction: Filling with hyaluronic acid for facial enhancement has become a common procedure due to its versatility in the use of therapy, not only for aesthetic purposes, but also to restore the functional part, providing symmetrical balance of facial contours in a non-invasive way. Objectives: To carry out a bibliographic survey of different journals for scientific publication related to the advantages and complications of the use of fillers with hyaluronic acid in facial areas, highlighting their benefits and limitations. Methodology: To this end, a scientific literature review study was carried out with a descriptive approach and informative character by consulting electronic databases such as PubMed and Science Direct published between the years 2018 to 2022. Results: The results were obtained through six studies found that prove that hyaluronic acid has ideal characteristics for facial rejuvenation treatment, considerably reducing the signs of aging in order to attenuate facial asymmetry, promoting harmony and aesthetics to the face, but showing the appearance of clinical manifestations that may vary from patient to patient. Conclusion: Therefore, hyaluronic acid is used to considerably alleviate the signs caused by skin aging in order to treat imperfections, but its use can lead to complications that in some cases can be reversed, reducing morbidity and sequelae of patients associated with its use. for facial dermal filler. However, the professional must have knowledge about the foreign body reaction caused by the injection of HA dermal filler, and that include appropriate diagnostic conditions and treatments, in addition to scientific study bases to avoid and/or treat the complications that may arise.
