Consequências toxicológicas de altas concentrações de fenol no tratamento com peeling químico
Main Article Content
Abstract
The work developed is an analogy about the late complications used in the peeling performed with phenol, and thus to be able to associate the employability of the pharmacist within the formulations for the same the peeling procedures of aesthetic medicine capable of promoting cell renewal in a progressive way, stimulating the growth and natural regeneration of tissues. Beauty treatment is one of the facial whitening and rejuvenation techniques, which uses, among the possibilities, phenol in its composition. Considering that the integumentary system is responsible for maintaining skin integrity, acting as an effective barrier against potential external pathogens and chemical damage, the procedure, when performed improperly, is capable of intoxicating the constituent layers of the skin. Due to this, the peeling composed of phenol has attributes that prove its toxicity in contact with the integument layers in its short and long-term applications, making monitoring throughout the procedure essential. Thus, the present study adds evidence of how the appearance of anomalies and pathologies associated with the skin occurs due to the prolonged use of peeling composed of phenol, as well as the manifestations and types of late complications and post-treatment reactions.
