Variação anatômica do músculo frontal e seus padrões de contração muscular associada à aplicação de toxina botulínica revisão bibliográfica

Abstract
Introduction: This review focuses on the importance of knowing the anatomical variations of the frontal muscle, the desire to achieve a beauty standards, self-esteem, physical and mental well-being with appearance, made many people seek more frequently less invasive and complicated methods. Acording to literature, the major cause of complications is the lack of knowledge of the muscular anatomy of the face, professionals who do not know it properly are subject to serious errors. Objective: The present work aims to highlight the anatomical variations of the frontal muscle, joining with the different patterns of contraction, in addition to report the literature data in relation to the place of application of the points for the different types of variations and contractions of the frontal muscle. Materials and methods: This integrative review was carried out from searches in databases such as PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar, using the keywords “anatomical variations”, “frontal muscle”, “contraction pattern” and “botulinum toxin type A”, in Portuguese and English. Results: Different patterns of contraction were classified, according to each anatomical characteristic of the frontal muscle. Conclusion: The identification and classification of frontal muscle contraction patterns allow more individualized assessment of each patient, wich is one of the most importante pillars for a succesful treatment plan. It is hoped that this review will help aesthetic health professionals about the importance of facial anatomy for the safety and success of procedures.
