Abstract
Stretch marks are linear lesions that appear on the skin due to the rupture of elastin and collagen fibers, differentiated into red, when the lesion is still undergoing the inflammation process, and white when the lesion heals in a way that collagen fibers are reduced and misaligned, as well as elastin fibers. Although they are not harmful to health, individuals with stretch marks often seek treatments to reduce the appearance and size of the lesions, as they cause significant aesthetic discomfort. Among the treatments, microneedling is widely known and sought after, as it induces collagen production and improves the skin's appearance. Technological evolution introduces the dermapen as an enhancement of the microneedling technique, being universal, accessible, and yielding better results for stretch mark treatment. Through the mechanism of action of the technique, the lesions created by the dermapen allow for the association of acids to enhance results, as they can better penetrate the dermis, reaching deeper layers. Ascorbic acid and hyaluronic acid induce the synthesis of collagen, elastin fibers, while hyaluronic acid plays a great role in hydrating the skin, ascorbic acid acts in capturing free radicals, being effective in treating stretch marks, especially when associated with dermapen.
